I see bad things happening

I just pulled up the bus schedule for Patuxent Elementary and my son's bus number has changed. For 2 yrs, he rode the same bus. I can see my son forgetting about it the first few days of school and missing the bus completely. Good thing I will be home to go get him. I'm sure my husband hopes that the driver is the same though. He thinks she's :hot:

Happy Camper!
At my son's elementary school (even last year when he was in the 4th grade) they gave them tags or buttons with their bus numbers on them and they all line up in the classroom to walk to the buses - the teacher takes on most of the responsibility.

At my son's school they call the bus number over the intercom and all the kids on that bus line up and walk to the bus. Maybe they do things differently the first few days in case bus number change or new students. There has been times when my son would come home and say "so-n-so" missed the bus and a teacher had to drive him/her to Appeal to catch it there.

Write the new number on the top of his bookbag or make a tag and pit it to him or the bag. I was always worried about this with my daughter.

Good idea. Atleast until he get used to the new number. He's way too cool (in his own mind atleast) to wear it on him so it will go on his bookbag.

Yep, have the same problem. If he won't let you write it on the outside, put it on the inside of a strap or right inside the top and make sure he sees it.

Personally, I'm liking the change. The drop-off time "now" was actually when my son really got dropped off last year. Before it said he'd be getting off alot earlier and until I got used to the driver's schedule, I'd be waiting at the stop a long time. My husband is liking the earlier pick-up time because he now has to get the youngest to pre-school by 9am (with a 30 minute drive) so I hope for his sake when it says 8am, the bus is there as close to 8am as possible.

Your bus is coming at 8? They changed ours to 8:45 which to me is LATE. Doesn't give the kids who don't eat at home much time for breakfast at school. Mine got off the bus anywhere from 4 -4:30 so we spent alot of time at the bustop

Last year the bus would pick son up anywhere between 8:20-8:45am. I would always leave for the bus stop around 4:15pm. There would be times that I was gathering up the younger son and heading for the door when my oldest would be walking through it.
