We recently lost John Bean, Capt Bob Holden, and Tommy Courtney. All in a couple weeks.
I'm feeling old.

I grew up eating at Courtney's. You never went there for a quick meal, but you left there having eaten a good meal.

So very sorry to hear about Mr. Courtney. My dad went to college with him after he retired from the Navy. They had one class together and were referred to as the young man and the old man (that of course was my father). I mentioned that to Mr. Courtney a year or two back - remembered my dad fondly. Really made me feel good for a minute or two that someone recalled him. Mr. Courtney was genuinely a nice man.

I've been striving for more of the "homeless meth addict" look. I want to be prepared to do some profitable panhandling on Great Mills Road if things get too bad.

Tommy's obituary is posted on the Brinsfield Funeral Home website now. Not really suggesting anything but I remember when my dad died how much it meant (and helped) to read some of the condolences and memories people had of him. I didn't have much to post on Tommy's page, I only knew him through what my dad and brothers had said and Tommy having remembered my dad when I mentioned him last time I was at Courtneys. I'm tearing up as I write this just like I teared up at Courtneys that day...stupid. I was thinking if anyone here online knew him and had a story to share and a few minutes to write it, might mean a lot to the family. TIA, carry on.

He was in poor health and was put in hospice care last week.

Who was the old man that worked at Stewart forever, that carved ducks and birds? I thought his Grandson? also was a carver.
He was a very nice old man too work around, I want to say that he generally was the one that mowed the grass.
