When at the prom, it's best to stick to your date.

No problem for Lynlea Jayo and Josh Traughber, a high school couple who used duct tape, thrift-store jackets and bed sheets to make their own formal wear for just $30.

Jayo and Traughber's creativity put them in the running for $2,500 scholarships. The Duck brand duct-tape company also gave $2,500 to the school as part of a national contest.

"It's my last prom, and I wanted to go with a bang," Traughber said. "I think we hit on something way different."

I don't know if any of you watch MTV but there was a girl on the show made that made a duct tape dress. It was the episode with the girl Andrea (Andy) who wanted to be made into homecoming queen. She made her dress out of duct tape because she really liked duct tape. She also had a purse and other stuff. So these kids aren't as creative as we give them credit for if they saw this show.

well I guess you don't have to worry about someone having the same dress as you. I wonder how many duct tape dresses were running around to get that money..

I remember a few years ago the man and I were in some store in SOMD and this boy walked into the store (cannot remember where we were) in a silver duct tape suit w/ the top hat and all.... craziest site I ever saw, but that was the first and then I started seeing it on TV, so I figured it was some fad... kids today I tell ya...

Yeah, what happen to the good old days. Where you would duct tape your buddy down to a roll around chair and push them into the office hallway and leave them there. Now thats using duct tape wisely!
