I can tell by the outboards about when that was taken and the round stern looks like one the Dysons worked..but I know some folks who will certainly know more folks in that picture. Weird thing is...I don't recall there being much to tong in the channel between Coltons Point and St. Clements. Everyone tonged oysters on the Herron Island bars and around the corner in Dukeharts channel... picture of which would have St. Catherine's in the background, not St. Clements. That's still a "hot" tonging spot to this very day.Saw this posted by the St Clements Island FB page, they need help identifying any of these people. Figured with the people in here, should be easy @Gilligan
You don't think that could've been taken inside Herron Island towards St. Patrick's Creek?I can tell by the outboards about when that was taken and the round stern looks like one the Dysons worked..but I know some folks who will certainly know more folks in that picture. The small boat with single person on it looks like Paul Goddard to me, I will check with someone this weekend. The short sleeve shirts indicate it was early or late in the season .Saw this posted by the St Clements Island FB page, they need help identifying any of these people. I thought Gerald Lumpkins as well, but the angle kind of hides his face. Ernie always wore a button up shirt. He was the best dressed waterman in the 7D.The caption read:
#TBT: From our collections - Here is a photo of watermen tonging for oysters in the Potomac near Bushwood, Maryland. The photo was taken in 1979. Can someone help us identity any of the men in the photo?
Ernie Woodall and Gerald Lumpkins are what the majority are saying.
