This chorus by Casting Crowns begs a good question.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
<o></o>
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way, There is a way<o></o>
<o></o>
This reflects on the church, but on us as well, as part of the church.<o></o>
<o></o>
So how do we live our faith?<o></o>
<o></o>
What is it that we do that makes us doers of the word and not just hearers? <o></o>
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.<o></o>
<o></o>
(Goes back to the heart being deceitfully wicked, that it even lies to us!)<o></o>
<o></o>
Mathew Henry<o></o>
1.) Hearing is in order to doing; the most attentive and the most frequent hearing of the word of God will not avail us, unless we be also doers of it. If we were to hear a sermon every day of the week, and an angel from heaven were the preacher, yet, if we rested in bare hearing, it would never bring us to heaven. <o></o>
men's arguing sophistically to themselves; their reasoning is manifestly deceitful and false when they would make one part of their work discharge them from the obligation they lie under to another, or persuade themselves that filling their heads with notions is sufficient, though their hearts be empty of good affections and resolutions, and their lives fruitless of good works. Self-deceit will be found the worst deceit at last.<o></o>
<o></o>
I heard a great sermon on this by John Macarthur today called empty hearts. Please take a moment to listen, Its short only 20 minutes.<o></o>

I wont ruin the surprise but lot of self professing Christians are going to be saying Lord Lord, having traveled the wide path rather than the narrow road.
<o></o>
So how do we live our faith?<o></o>
<o></o>
So many Christians<o></o>
Dress like the world<o></o>
Talk like the world<o></o>
Go to the same movies<o></o>
Watch the same TV<o></o>
Read the same Books<o></o>
Act like the world<o></o>
How would you know there a Christian other than their profession of faith?<o></o>
<o></o>
Billy Graham stated that probably only 5 percent of the folks in churches calling them selves Christians are probably saved, the rest putting their faith in a prayer spoken, an emotional moment, or victims of false teachers and the modern Gospel.<o></o>
What’s worse this spills back over into the churches, that some have become nothing more than a coffee shop with mindless praise music resembling a chant and a 10 minute sermon on the gospel of Shrek or Spiderman II or 7 keys to self.. or 5 stones for getting along with co-workers. Rolling Stones Bible studies, and Teaching of doctrine or essential doctrine is non-existent.<o></o>
<o></o>
So back to the original question if we are the body how do we show the love of Christ?<o></o>
<o></o>
How do we live our faith?<o></o>
<o></o>
Is missions work just throwing money at it, for someone else to do?<o></o>
<o></o>
Recently I've been seening all kinds of areas for ministery/missions
that need voulnteers. I am genuinely interested in how you or your church maybe meeting these needs in Southern Maryland?
Do you have time to help an exsiting ministery?
Revive one that was given up for lack of voulnteeres.
Know of one that needs started?
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going ?
