Scrapple is :barf:

Spam is the big thing in MN, since it was created in Austin, MN... and even then I don't eat that :barf:
When I was 12 I found out what it was I never ate it after that day. The smell of it makes me ill and I have to leave the house if my mom cooks it for my brother and my son when we all visit her :barf:

When I first moved here and saw crab "mustard."

"You aren't really going to eat that crap, are you?"
:jameo: :jameo: :jameo:

I KNOW!!! Thats not how we do it in Jersey! We take the claws off, take that backs off and clean out the mustard, guts and lungs, then we put them in the pot and after that sautee' them in parsley, garlic and olive oil. I never had Old Bay growing up, didn't know what it was, now I put it on everything.

Oh and we also make crabs and spaghetti :yum: nobody knows what that is down here.

I have heard of this, but have not had it yet.

My boyfriends mom is from Brooklyn and she said its the "italian way to cook"

I have no "comments" about some words because I don't hear them. However, my mother told me that when I was 3 years old and attending speech thearpist class to learn how to talk since I'm deaf. This was in Tennessee, and I said "Pig" like the way TN people who have accent, which sounded like "Peg". I kept saying that until we moved back to Maryland and started to use Southern Maryland's accent along with my deaf accent.

Growing up I used to say "wudder" instead of water (which is a Philly thing) and "crick" instead of "creek" (which was my Italian neighbor thing).
I say things like "cheesesteak" and "water ice"
:yay: say the same thing. I got the blank stare when I said I had to go to the MAC Machine (ATM). Get the deer look a lot down here when I talk because I talk too fast for some or get - oh, you must be from Philly.
