The House of Representatives passed a measure on Friday automatically registering men aged 18 to 26 for selective service.

It was part of the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which sets out the U.S. government’s military and national security priorities over the next fiscal year.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., blasted the bill on Friday afternoon over the inclusion of amendments curbing funding for abortion, transgender medical care, and diversity efforts.

"Unsurprisingly, the legislation coming out of the House today is loaded with anti-LGBTQ, anti-choice, anti-environment, and other divisive amendments guaranteed not to pass the Senate," Schumer said. "As we move forward with this year’s NDAA process, both sides will have to work together to pass bipartisan legislation that honors and respects all who serve in defense of our nation."

Thank goodness it's prima facie unconstitutional ... any draft for forced conscription.

Thirteenth Amendment
Section 1
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

So if they want, they can empty the prisons and force press them into service. But as for the public at large? Tell them to go pound sand. Besides, if necessary, per Article I, Section 8, Clause 15: The Congress shall have Power -- To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions; And Article 1 Section 2 Clause 1: The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States;

Nothing in the Constitution allows for conscription or forced service to fight wars in other countries. The Militia, being We the People of able bodied men at least 17 and under 45 years of age, is only for fighting, defending, and protecting the land and people within this Nation's borders. To suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions, that is all that is allowed per the Constitution.

They have fed them questionable meat forever.

My grandpa would never eat gravy because on the boat in WW2 everything was covered in gravy to hide the grossness.

There's no misunderstanding what you are volunteering for, when you volunteer for SERVICE....you're volunteering for...SERVICE...
"What kind of service?" you may ask???? Any kind your Gov't Overlords deem necessary...

That's made pretty clear on day 1 of Basic Training...it's not the Gov't's fault that 89% of recruits fail to understand what SERVICE actually means....

What about women? They should be subject to the draft as well. Because, equality. And equity. And sh*t.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this whole reduction of carbon footprint anti-flora? I mean, can trees, plants, shrubs, and flowers overdose on too much CO2?

Or are humans the carbon they're trying to reduce?
