If you were going to copy DVDs

In My Opinion
What software would you use.
This is just a question, I realize that none of you would copy a DVD from a video store because that would be wrong and you are all good people that wouldnt do anything wrong like copy a DVD from a video rental place.

so that being said, I would use DVD Cloner II, if I were to be of the type that would do something like this. but Im not.
however, DVD Cloner II has some issues with certain movies that does not allow the DVD Shrink program to work properly, thus not allowing you to copy the DVD. If I were to actually do something like this, and use software such as DVD Cloner II, I would be able to record most movies, but not all.

So, If you were criminally minded, what software would you use to copy a DVD that would get around the security/compression issues that many movies now have.
Not that any of you would do this mind you.

I just figure that you know some criminally minded individuals that might or might not have shared their secrets of preferred software with you.

I cant believe that there are criminal types that do this stuff.

I have heard from a friend of a friend that DVD Cloner IV has a little more umph to it then DVD Cloner II.

Criminal types? What if you have your home videos on DVD and want to make other copies for family? That's not stealing at all. And I use Magic DVD Ripper.

whats the average time it takes to copy a DVD with magic ripper?
DVD Cloner gives a finished product in less than 20 minutes for the most part.

It's been awhile since I used it but it seems like it was something like 15 or 20 minutes. Makavide is the video guru, so I'd use whatever he suggests.

thats what I figured.
cloner II was great back in its day but the encryption has finally beat it.

Video rental?
I just download all my movies using Limewire pro and burn them with Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.

IF, I were going to do this, which I do not condone...:drama:

I would use DVD Shrink, which strips the copyright and lets you remove all the unwanted previews and extra languages that you dont need. and if you already have Nero installed, Shrink works in conjunction with it and prompts you to insert a blank disk and burns it perfectly.... A friend of mine does this

I wouldn't get around the encryption and save it to the harddrive with "DVDdecrypter" nor use the Roxio software that came with the PX-716A drive to burn it onto DVD-R DL discs that I didn't source from Newegg.

But I might do that, if I were to make backup copies of stuff I already own- which is legal. Kids an animals lead to DVD destruction.

That is just worth cleaning up DVDs I own and I detest paying for a movie and getting forced to buy advertising/previews of stuff I do not want!!
That way I would have just the movie and nothing else!! :yay:

Law says I'm entitled to make one backup copy of any DVD I buy. Doesn't say where I have to put that backup copy.

I use DVDShrink.

And, yes I would rent a movie and burn it on DVD. It's called Blockbuster Rent-to-own, just like Aarons. Yeah, that's it.
