In January 2020, Assistant Professor of Psychology Ayse Ikizler was quoted in the "Monitor on Psychology" in an article on the AMENA-Psy (American Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African Psychological Association) organization of which she is co-founder and president.
AMENA-Psy aims to expand and support the MENA American psychologist workforce and to foster the well-being of Arab, Middle Eastern and North African people who live in the United States and Canada. In the article, Ikizler spoke about how AMENA-Psy provides her “with a sense of hope that [her] research is going to continue to be seen as valid and important.”
