I read a comment on a BayNet story about a migrant camp in the woods next to the boat ramp at Abell's Wharf. Does anyone know anything about this? Where else are there "migrant" camps in southern Maryland? Do we need to nip this in the bud right now before it gets out of hand? If so, how do we do that? In my opinion, we have enough of our own homeless in this county that we already don't know what to do with. We certainly don't need out of town homeless illegals. Maybe back in the day of tobacco fields they were needed, but not now. Have busses been sneaking into Leonardtown in the dark of night to drop these folks off?
I see all of the public open space that local, state, and federal governments have bought up coming to be blighted with illegals. Nothing that we can do about it - it's public property. Private property owners do have the law behind them to keep unwanted and unwelcome people off of their property, but not so much on public property. My, my, the web we weave in this country!
