I'm at a loss for words.

The dog did not run loose all the time, it had recently learned how to get loose. The owner (that day) had purchased a run for him. And he was not a pit bull, but a lab/pit mix. He was about a yr old. The owner of the dog helped out at the daycare occasionally as her daughter goes there for care sometimes. The puppy was young and very friendly. No the dog did not hang out at the daycare all the time. The children were never in danger. The dog was known, and the kids (as most kids do love animals) all just loved him. I don't know about the rain thing personally, but I am tired of people acting like the daycare provider did something wrong. What happened to people being neighborly and caring??? I know cyber bullies will jump on this and holler at me, but people just have no common sense any more. I am sure the licensed provider - being interviewed by the sheriffs office - acted with due care and conscience. It's not an easy situation, I realize. Sockgirl sees posts on her FB, knows ONE person who has contact with the daycare and is an expert. What has happened to common sense, to being neighborly? Woodburn did a criminal thing, and especially considering his past offenses, needs to be charged and not get a pat on his hand or have mommy and daddy pay his way out this time. He needs to be accountable for what he did.

No. They're upset over the dog's death, not the wellbeing of their children.

As a daycare provider she is responsible for those children which means that she should not allow any dog that is not her own to have contact with those children. Same goes for her letting the child(ren) cry on the dog's grave in her yard IN THE RAIN. But, this is just my opinion. You do not have to agree to it. However, I know plenty of people that have had contact with this daycare in the past. I'll be a good girl and not post what has been said about that daycare provider.

Good - gossip is ridiculous already in this county. And I'm sure you would not want to add stupid fuel to the stupid fire. I already stated I did not know anything about the crying in the rain BS. For all we know that could have been that reporters way of adding some un-needed emotion to an already incendiary story. If you were a good reader, you would have comprehended the first part of my post - where the dog had just learned to escape - and the daycare did not 'host' the dog daily or on a full-time basis but .....

I happen to know the editor. It was NOT added info. That came directly from the daycare provider's mouth. The daycare provider herself even said that the dog was their damn mascot. Read the whole damn story.

In fact Tank had become a mascot of the day-care center that is on the same dirt lane that the Woodburn and Ince homes are located just off Route 5 in Ridge. Tank is now buried at that day care center
Over at the day care center, where Tank hung out and played with the kids, one of the children was so distraught that he laid on Tank’s grave in the rain mourning the loss.

However, I do agree about the story being pathetic. Knowing a little bit about the dog owner, I know just how pathetic it really is. It's a attention though.

Wow. You know everyone!! I did read the story and have even talked to the people involved. And saying the dog was their mascot does not mean the dog was there all the time daily. Reading comprehension is your friend!

Yes, I do know a lot of people. I did not say that the dog was there every day. I read the story and comprehended it quite well. I based what I said on the fact that the dog owner and the daycare provider both stated that the dog visited on a regular basis. Either way, as a daycare owner, it was her responsibility to not have that dog around those children.

If the parents were ok, the provider was ok with it- why are you protesting it? Do you know that the dog was dangerous? Do you know more than they do?

No I don't think so. I think you are a judgmental person who has to put her 2 cents worth in, even when its not worth 2 cents.

Really? If that dog bit one child just once, her ass would be sued and everyone would not think so kindly about her letting a dog that she does not own around those children. It is stupid.

But the dog is dead. It did not bite or act aggressive to anyone and was known to the people who made that decision. You are just arguing a moot point. For no reason. It has been discussed and re-discussed over and over. Why you brought it up again just proves my point about you having to put your worthless opinion in.

It actually sounds like you have sour grapes and are just trying to make more drama/trouble.....

Last I checked, this was a forum. Without people on here typing their opinions, there would be no forum. :yay:

I guess you are right. It just sounds as if you have an agenda against the daycare person. This forum, I thought, was done. Till you came in spouting your font of knowledge about the whole thing....

I do not have an agenda against anyone. This THREAD was bumped when I posted the news of the dog killer being formally charged. Font of knowledge?
