Me and the finace are thinking about getting either two kayaks or a double one. I don't really want to spend the money on brand new ones since me and her will just be getting started. So if anyone knows something about getting one fairly cheap or willing to give up old ones :howdy: or something like that then please let me know thanks... :jameo:

Keep an eye out on somd.com clasifieds and on craigslist.com (DC area). If you're patient you can get a great deal.

I am so very blessed
I sold my tandem (double) kayak/canoe two years ago for $200. I originally purchased it about 10 years ago; I'm sure the newer ones are a lot nicer and a lot lighter in weight than mine was. It really was quite cumbersome and heavy. It was designed to that the unit was shaped like a kayak, but had an open cockpit like a canoe, but your butt sat on the floor of the boat. Even though you could use it solo or with another person, taking it out solo was almost impossible because it was too heavy for me to lift on and off my roof rack. As I said, I'm sure the ones on the market these days are way nicer than the one that I had. Having said that, I do have to admit that I had a crapload of fun with mine through the years. When I sold it, it still had a lot of fun times ahead for the new owner. The manufacturer of mine was Aquaterra. Here is a listing that I just found of Craigslist that might interest you - the distance to pick it up might be prohibitive, but it could also be a nice ride for a weekend roadtrip.

Aquaterra 2 person kayak with child/dog seat - $325

That kayak is almost as much as just buying some new ones. I was pricing them around town yesterday and they average almost 300 to 600. I don't want to spend that much atleast not quite yet so im still looking for some deals. I don't see myself traveling to new york for one either hehe... I want one of the sit in ones not the sit on top ones...
