On my travels today I ended up behind a super lowered dually. It was super weird looking.

Beautiful car. I had a '65 Impala SS convertible, but was always partial to the '66. Had to sell it when we found out my son was on the way. I couldn't afford all that was needed to make it road worthy, plus it was rusting away. I was lucky enough to take my daughter for a couple rides in it. She loved riding with the top down. Memories...

Guy I ran with back in the day had a 66 Chevelle ragtop, same color as the Impala in the commercial. Had some wild times in that car. 396, Cragars all around, jacked up about 6 inches, just a beautiful car.

My dads luxury in life was buying the odd year used SS Impalas from one of his lifelong friends.
Never as a kid I didn't think my dad had a cool ride. My dad found my gto when I got my license as a kid, he also mandated that I didn't chop it up when I was younger.
I'll give it to my son in a few years when he settles and buys a home.
Next time I talk to my to my younger sister I will ask for a few slides of our dads cars when we were growing up.

I have been looking at 66-67 138 vin code chevelle rollers for a project for/with my son the last two years.
When for sale they dont hang around long...

You could have just Chevelle SS

Lots of Chevelle and Impala's SS's, GTO's, out there for sale.
Not so many with the correct vin and data codes...
Every year outhere during the James Dean Festival/ car show, every Chevelle shown was a big block and say 75 percent were SS cars. About 40-50% of the good option GM cars have the wrong rivets holding the Protecto Data plate on the firewall and vin plate.

When walking car shows its funny how you can see 3-4 of a model car that only 20 were built that year.
Pretty good odds that 2-3 are clones posing....

Growing up, I saw quite a few muscle cars, but one that sticks out was a '67 Chevelle SS 396. It was owned by the son of a local businessman that had done quite well for himself. I believe it was a graduation present. If I'm not mistaken and memory serves me, it was special ordered at Bell Motors in Leonardtown and he had to wait for delivery. This poor car was still in it's all original state in the 70s when the guy's best friend decided that he wanted to drive cars at the local dirt track. He wanted to be a winner in the "stock" class. By this time the car was starting to show it's age and the guy convinced the owner it was just an old Chevy. The car traded hands and went on to dominate the stock class for 2-3 seasons and ended up a worthless hulk. In the end, a numbers matching all original SS met its demise, but Oats got his 15 minutes of redneck fame.
