I sure do feel like one! I have been solving computer issues off and on all day for just about everyone I have come across!

My sister, my best friend, one of the forumites, my son and myself. What cracks me up is. I know nothing about Vista, and frankly don't care too, but I spent an hour online with one of the Dell techs trying to get him to show me how to set up a home network with Vista and he couldn't do it.

I finally get off the phone with him only to go to Microsoft.com and figure it out myself in less than 5 minutes!

Anyway, back to more issues, girlfriend is paging me again!

Experience is one of the best teachers. Too bad your lesson plan involves VISTA. I have heard from techie friends of mine that Vista is not worth the headache; they always go back to XP.

I always end up back with XP too, but a lot of the new systems have Vista on them and you can't avoid it. I just got this HP and it has Vista 64bit on it. I am not sure due to the type of computer it is if I could go back to XP. It is one of the Touch Screen models and I'm not sure there are drivers for it and XP. I looked on HP's website and they strongly recommend not going back to XP with thier newer machines as they will not function properly afterward. So I think my hands are tied!

There is a place called ISSI in what used to be the Skate Station on RT 235.
(Information Systems (Something'r other) Incorporated), or something like that. They're in the phone book. Either that or you can drop by and talk to someone if you're in that neighborhood.

This bunch is a computer company, which is the best I can describe them. I mean, I'm sure they are more than that.

I had a hardware problem; my computer wouldn't boot; so I "let my fingers do the walking" and looked them up.

The gent I talked to hooked up my computer to see the problem I was having, for himself, and said he would have to "wipe" the harddrive and re-install XP; which he did; and since then my 'puter's worked like a champ. They had my computer for a few days and it cost me something like $111.00 to get it fixed but to me, it was A LOT cheaper than more possible extensive repairs; I didn't have to buy any new components; and I didn't have to buy another new computer.
AAAaaannnnd.....I didn't have to go to VISTA.

Just a thought (?)

Honestly, you are there so take the plunge. After you work with Vista it does get better (and easier) after a while... If you get pissed and cannot do what you need to do, break out the 1710 out of the closet and boot it.

It is like going from NT4 - XP... people biatched and complained, just like now they do not want to let go of XP.
