The Navy of Nigeria has reportedly set ablaze an oil vessel dubbed “MV Cecilia” loaded with nearly 350,000 liters of robbed Automated Gas Oil.

It would have been terrible and a threat to the Earth!!!! You know WE are the only polluters in the world!!

I know tankers now are huge, and certainly that spill is going to be bad for the environment, but how about WW2 when oil tankers were sunk, when carriers and other ships filled with oil were sunk, and the oceans survived.
It seems pretty stupid to set refined Diesel fuel on fire when it could have been sold.

Burning it took the least amount of effort to deal with it. Which seems appropriate for a 3rd world nation.

This works out to be 2300 bbl of oil, that’s a tiny tanker.
