Buttigieg on Keystone Pipeline amid Ukraine Invasion: We Don’t Want ‘Permanent Solutions’ to Short Term Problems

Anchor Stephanie Ruhle said, “I want to stay on gas for another moment. You’re absolutely right, the president does not set the price of gas, but he can influence it. And while releasing some strategic reserves matters, given how much has been released, it is really just a drop in the bucket. Are there things, and I realize this is controversial, it has huge environmental impacts, could the president possibly consider authorizing the Keystone Pipeline? Or working something out with Iran?”

Buttigieg said, “Look, the president has said that all options are on the table. But we also need to make sure that we are not galloping after permanent solutions to immediate short term problems, where more strategic and tactical actions in the short term that can make a difference, like what you have with the strategic reserve, which exists partly in order to respond to situations like this.”

There used to be institutions for crazy people, now we have the democrat party. What an "enlightened" and ****ed up mess this stolen election has turned into. If it weren't for the mentally ill, biden would have no cabinet.

They're more worried about building electric charging stations for those electric vehicles that people can't afford to buy.

They are trying to rush a deal with Iran so we can buy oil from them once they get their no nukes agreement that will do nothing but send the Iranian state millions of dollars. Then we will enrich another country that hates us by purchasing their oil. I can''t wait until the midterms and I really can't wait until the 2024 Presidential election. I just fear how much more damage these fools will do before 2024.

Dave: You are exactly right.
The question is how much punishment the American people will take before we remove this bunch the hard way. When he is removed the hard way we may as well clean out our Universities too because that is where this "woke" Bullshit is coming from.

Now before I get accused of conspiring for an insurrection I want to say that I am only expressing my own thoughts, I am not a leader, but our history is rife with actions taken by Americans when the laws are not working, when taxes are too high, and when he Government no longer represents the people. I do not conspire with anyone to start a insurrection, or violence, I am only asking the question, how long will we put up with this incompetent ass whole who is destroying us economically and helping our enemies to grow their strength and weapons to kill us all. For that is where OUR money is going. To China for their products to Russia for their gas, and if Biden has his way, to Iran. Think about it. We are financing our own demise.

Like you I want no trouble with anyone. I will do what I can at the ballot box and hope my vote is counted properly. Being a conservative these days is not easy. I get angry when I think about the so called insurrection. Without thinking they played right into the hands of those now in charge of the government and gave them some of the best footage you could ask for to use in campaign ads. I will send emails, make phone calls and complain when they come up with bird brained ideas. I will not do anything that will allow someone else to control my life. Hopefully they will wake up and do what's right for our country.

The problem is in the state of MD is there are too many that rely on the govt, that will continue to vote for the ones who keep giving out freebies.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg claims EV transportation will bring ‘cost savings’ to Americans

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday said the American people stand to benefit from having more electric vehicles on the road but failed to elaborate on how they could become more affordable at a time when gas prices nationwide were hitting record levels.

Buttigieg spoke during a press conference unveiling the Biden administration's expensive plan to develop electric public buses. While touting the benefits of clean transportation, Buttigieg remarked that Americans from "rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV."

Although the cost of electric vehicles has come down in recent years, they still remain out of reach for millions of Americans, with an average price hovering around $50,000.

EV's also rely on raw materials like cobalt and lithium for their batteries. A surge in demand for EV's would necessitate greater reliance on countries like Congo, Russia, and China which mine these materials.

Well designed batteries use very little cobalt. And lithium can and does come from places with far less issues, like here in the US and Australia.

As far as the cost of EVs coming down, that's a matter of efficiency and scale. Getting there, but quite yet. I think about five years for the low-mid thirties to hit the street. You need very efficient batteries and production techniques.

Let me be clear, BootyJudge doesn't really understand any of this, he's simply spouting the party line. And this is the party that thinks the rest of riding electric buses is just fine while they jam around in diesel SUVs deciding our fates.
