I'm trying to find in-home care to assist with basic needs for an elderly family member. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There are different levels of care (and costs) depending on the care required. Right now, I'm looking at a basic level of care for my folks called Companion Care. It provides services like errands, driving, light house cleaning, cooking, shopping, even just sitting and keeping someone company. Pretty much anything up to, but not including, any medical care. Not even applying a bandaid. Costs can be reasonable, usually by the hour.

I've only just begun my research. I'd share, but it's for care out of the Charlottesville, VA area, probably not applicable here.

Call your local county Office on Aging. You can find their number online or in the phone book. They have a wealth of information! :yay:

There are many such nursing agencies such as Faststaff, Nitinglenurses with whom you can get in touch with which provide professional nurses who are well groomed not just in handling the patients but also in representing themselves professionally in proper medical scrubs (which are available in many online stores like this one for example ) who stay with the patient all the time and take care of their needs.
