I was playing today with some household insects that I found. THese were taken with my 35-70mm in macro mode, and a 50mm reversed in front of it.

THanks for looking and comments welcome

Nice! Love the lady bug of the two. :yay: I have a reversing ring for my 50mm, havent really shot anything with it though. The colors and sharpness look good.

Yeah, I never tried it before. It works nicely! Only thing is you get really close with the lens and that cuts out lighting, and focus is such a small area I ended up moving the tripod back and forth fractions of an inch to get focus where I wanted it. Focus point was about one inch from te back end of the 50mm.

Lighting was an issue shooting Macro with 35 mm.. I used to take the shade off of one of the table lamps and use it just behind the camera or off to one side, out of frame.

Had to play with it a little to get rid of the shine, but worked real well.

I'm looking for a good macro lens for taking pictures of IC's and circuit card runs, and with the lens will probably get the macro flash to go with it, though looking at the flash it still looks like glare will be a problem.. may have to look at buying a small(er) umbrella and bounce off of it.

I have an older version of Simga MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG and have had good results with it. Haven't had experience with Macro lights but they must be nice because they are expensive.
