In the matter of George Zimmerman

I think you should read florida's SYG. SYG does not require you to have been assaulted prior to defending yourself.

Lets say a person is pointing a gun at you, do you need to wait until he shoots you to defend yourself? Not in Florida

How about a knife? Nope, you don't need to have been stabbed
How about a 2x4? Nope, don't need to be hit.

So if Martin believed that he was in eminent danger from Zimmerman he had the right to defend himself. After all, they were apparently in a high crime area where just walking down the street is suspicious. Imagine how suspicious someone following you must be.

If if doesn't bother you that Zimmerman isn't telling the whole truth, that's just sad.

Where is it in evidence that Zimmerman shot or was about to shoot Martin before he assaulted Zimmerman? Where is it in evidence that Zimmerman had a knife? A 2x4?

Dee dee/Jantel/Diamond testified that Martin wasn't afraid of Zimmerman because he would not run home. Why is it that you are adding things which have not been put into evidence?

Previously in my career I was an undercover narcotics detective. I followed people all the time. That never gave them the right to assault me. There is no testimony that Zimmerman acted like someone who was looking to assault Martin. If he had, why would he have called the police instead of simply assaulting him?

You find it sad that it doesn't bother me that I don't believe Zimmerman's entire story. My answer to that is you don't have 20+ years in law enforcement and your experience has not afforded you the opportunity to learn that under pressure, most people tailor their stories to make them look best. What an investigator does is corroborate the important pieces of those stories to provide a best portrait of what happened.

Do you believe everything Dee dee/Jantel/Diamond said is the truth?

The point is you don't need to actually be assaulted first to defend yourself under SYG. All you need is to believe that is about to happen.

Again, I believe that statement by deedee lines up with when Zimmerman was i his car. Once Zimmerman gets out on foot hat changes how Martin may perceive him and any threat he may represent.

What evidence do you have that makes you think deedees statement related to Zimmerman following Martin on foot?

I don't believe deedee told the entire truth necessarily, but I think she is too stupid to fabricate much.

It doesn't matter to me if Zimmerman was following on foot or in his car. Your supposition that Dee dee/Jantel/Diamond (remember all these names. She can't even tell the truth about her name).

Why do you believe that Martin thought Zimmerman was going to assault him?

And it doesn't matter what you think. What matters is Florida law and how the jury is instructed. Under Florida law Martin does not need to be assaulted to defend himself.

Three things
zimmemrman was following Martin
Zimmemrman didn't identify himself when they did meet
Zimmerman ended up killing Martin.

I couldn't decipher your sentence about deedee.

My thought was interrupted about Dee dee and I can't remember what I was going to say.

Does your theory that Martin believes he was about to be assaulted, so he assaults Zimmerman negates Zimmerman's right to defend himself against the real assault rather than the perceived assault?

It's the prosecutions theory from what i can tell.
But i would say zimmermans ability to claim selfdefense was lost when he got out of his car and followed Martin. At least as these circumstances played out under Florida law

So if I see someone in my yard, and I go out and approach him/her, its my fault if they attack?
after all, the community IS where the hero Zimmerman was supposed to be looking out for the criminal element like Trayvon.

It doesn't matter right or wrong, who assaulted who or how Trayvon died.. politics is dictating that Zimmerman goes to jail.

I believe the Prosecution is resting today.

Thank god.
They NEED a rest. Yet another of their witnesses goes down in flames...

arvis Martin, Fulton half-brother, testified in court today that the voice on the 911 call was that of Trayvon Martin. On cross-examination, however, it was revealed that two weeks after first hearing the screams on the 911 call he was interviewed in a sit-down with a local TV reporter and at that time told the reporter he was uncertain if the screamer was Trayvon.

Political correctness and racial intimidation does not belong in a court room.
When this happens, all faith in the justice system fails.

IF Zimmerman is found innocent in this trial the Feds will step in and charge hime somethibg ridiculius like violating Trayvon's civil rights..

Hope Zimmerman's lawyers are honest with him and have explained this to him, he IS going to jail.

Under what theory of Florida law are you quoting? The prosecutions theory is that Zimmerman was beating Martin and then shot him, and Trayvon was yelling for help. All of which I believe has been pretty much challenged successfully.

How can a civilian violate someone's civil rights? You have no idea what you are talking about. Just some more of your anti-government views.

I can't believe you are such a whore who would accept a paycheck from a government you believe is so corrupt.

I do it twice a month.
I consider it pay back for all the government does to me.

of course when I hit the millions in powerball Saturday night, These things will change somewhere around 1:30 on Monday afternoon as I am seen pulling out of the state.

Its Lose/Lose

Regardless of the fact of guilt or innocence, it is a lose/lose situation for everyone whether Zimmerman is found Guilty or Innocent.

Guilty = Zimmerman will go to prison and the "White Latino" (still have no idea what a white latino is) community will most likely backlash and possible rioting/looting will occur.

Innocent = Zimmerman will get off and there will DEFINITELY be rioting and looting and probably a lot of destruction.

So, bottom line is..... SOMEONE GONNA GIT DEMSELFS A NEW FLAT SCREEN AND DEDICATE IT TO SOMEONE! :coffee:

The irony is strong with that post. Willfully obtuse, are we?

So here...I read it again and so can you. Pick out the part about "uniforms and badges"..:killingme
Oh, so Zimmerman would abide by all the rules from the handbook you posted? Can you find me the part where they advocate being armed or where they tell you to follow someone suspicious while alone. I'll wait.

By your read, if he's not wearing a badge or uniform, he's not legit, right? Where is this written as a requirement? You keep dodging that question.

Not saying that at all, but with him not identifying himself, he could have been anybody.

The neighborhood watch in my neighborhood drive marked cars provided by the county police, they wear uniforms that look like police. If one came up on you, you'd think he was a cop. The do not carry guns due to liability. I know one personally and I have asked him lots of questions. They are all retired police officers and all volunteer.

I don't care what the verdict is, makes no difference to me.
Exactly. If someone is armed and providing security or "patrolling" an area, they should have something that identifies them.

Hell, Zimmerman sounds creepier than Trayvon. Following teenagers in his vehicle at night by himself while armed with no identification... Please!
