I get it, it's not something everyone wants to go to and participate in - in person - but...

If you do! Try to get yo' tickets and let's make a plan to go! Why not? We can post info about it here. I'm not so certain I'd go to any of the Festivities that night, (you also get invited to one or 2 of those) but that could change in the next couple of months. :jet:

Call Steny's office (the young man who answered yesterday was super nice and I gave him my info so they can contact me when they start doing their lottery.

Steny's Washington DC Office: 202-225-4131

AND go to Chris Van Hollen's website:

I'm gonna get a telephone book for each County & just keep calling BOTH offices and going down the list, requesting to be put in the Lottery.... flood them with so many requests that they begin to feel like they are the only Dems left in the State...and it should make them consider Canada as a viable option...

Reagan's 2nd inauguration was brutal, weather-wise.
My grandfather always talked about one of the inaugurations and a bad snowstorm hitting just ahead of it. Don’t remember which president it was, but he was always impressed by how quickly they cleaned everything up to make it happen.

Now you all have me rethinking my actions - I do not like cold weather!
it wasn't bad at all that day! It was a little drizzly, actually, but these 2 Girl Scouts were prepared! :D The lady that we met from NJ had her daughter's GS Troop with her!! It was SO cool that my bff and I (who were both GS and then leaders together in the 90's) were there right next to them. It was a great day!

I was "volunteered" to work on Jimma Carters inauguration setup and planning as a military taxi driver because I was a shitbird for breaking my leg a few months before. Be at the Navy Yard early thirty, go pickup jr bureaucrat here and pickup Lt Col there. something like 6 weeks I forget. Lots of time off first month, paid for it in spades the last two weeks when they went into max sweat. Worked for a jar Mustanger 1st Lt, great guy, became friends afterwards. My observation was junior army were the dumbest somebitches in the world. Army officers were asssholes, Jars were ate up as I knew, AF were blowhards then there were us stoners.
Didn't go to the inauguration, parades or anything else, hated driving in DC. Was glad to get back to my dirty assed reciprocating dinosaurs and have some real fun.
There was a good looking pic of me in the Maryland Gazette tho, page 47. 😁
