Stabbing: On August 20 at 4:40 a.m., two male suspects broke into an apartment in the 2600 block of Hamilton Place in Waldorf and stabbed three adults who were inside. One victim was transported to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not life threatening. The other two victims were treated for injuries on the scene. Detectives are working on leads. This case does not appear to be random. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. J. Feldman at (301) 609-6474. Calls for service and a traffic stop leads to recovery of three guns: Between August 13- August 17, officers recovered three guns during three separate calls for service including two domestic-related calls and one traffic stop:
On August 17, an officer initiated a traffic stop after learning the driver of a car, Darius Donte Stokes, 27, of Waldorf, had an open warrant for failure to appear in court. After confirming the warrant information, Stokes was asked to exit the vehicle. Upon doing so, Stokes raised his shirt and showed the officer he had a handgun in his waist. Stokes was arrested without further incident. He was charged with carrying a concealed handgun and he was processed for his open warrant.
On August 16, officers responded to a house in which a father and adult son were arguing. During the altercation, the son grabbed a handgun and threatened his father. The son fled to his bedroom where he barricaded himself. Officers were able to establish a rapport with the son and talk him into exiting the room without the gun. He was taken into custody without further incident. Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered the handgun.
In an unrelated domestic case involving a different family, officers responded to a residence on August 13 regarding an altercation with a father and son, during which the father grabbed a shotgun and ordered his adult son from the house. Officers arrived and were able to safely separate the two men and remove the shotgun from the father. The gun was recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
