Inexpensive Wedding Ceremony

Does anyone know of a place in PG, Charles, St. Mary's or Calvert Counties that I could get married at? My fiance and I want to get married but it is the 2nd time for us both and we don't want anything big or fancy but we would like something a little better than just going to the JP and getting married at the court house. Any suggestions?

We are looking for something small just for us two and no reception will be needed. We are on a tight budgetso nothing elaborate. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Are you having guests? You want to get married in a church?

No guests, just a ceremony for us two. We have a honeymoon already planned for January so we will celebrate then with some family members. We are open to a church and/or other options. It doesn't have to be in a church as we both went that route before. We are both catholic and getting married again in a catholic church most likely isn't going to happen. We are open to any and all possibilities.

You could get married almost anywhere. I would think you would first need to find the person to marry you and go from there.

My suggestions:

Is there a pier at Point Lookout? If that happened at sunset that would be kinda cool and romantic, right?

If you have access to a military base, there's a pedestrian bridge at Hog Point on Pax River NAS....makes for a picturesque setting if you like that kind of thing.

Solomon's Pier

Just put some thought into it....kinda like that song America did in 82....

I know its not in the counties you mentioned, but its not that much further to travel.
Quiet Waters Park has an excellent setup for marriages and receptions.

from down yonder you would come up 4 to 2
follow rt 2 and turn off on Forrest Drive, go down about 4 miles and it will be on the left.

The reception room is big enough for around 40 or so guests, the dj or band and has a small dance type floor. it also has a kitchen in it so you could do your own catering if you desired.

I don't know how expensive (I doubt it would be expensive at all...) but St. Mary's College has a place called "The Garden of Remembrance." Quite a few weddings get hosted there and I can guaruntee if you head there in spring ti will be amazing! GHere is a crappy pic of it:

But if you go to http://www.smcm.edu/gallery/ you can see more pics....Just make sure you do it over spring break or somehting....damn college kids!

If it is just you and your significant other Calvert county has some good bed and breakfasts place you can use. They are some really nice restuarants in Rockville, Maryland.

If you can find an officiant you can get married anywhere you'd like. Now i know the JP at pg will go to a location if you file with them in advance and the big wigg approves it. Also look online there are alot of people ordained to perform a legal ceremony. I suggest trying National Colonial farm. Thats in PG county I think. They have a wonderful view overlooking Mt Vernon. They also have a great colonial garden and costumed docents. Good Luck!

Evelyn Arnold from the courthouse came and married me and the man at Sotterly Mansion. Very nice, not too expensive at all.

The grounds at The old Maryland State House in St. Mary's City, overlooking the water at sunset. It's on Route 5 across from the college.
