Information Protection Agency

Hear me out:

We have a Consumer Protection Agency that is supposed to keep businesses honest and curtail any predatory behaviors they might want to engage in. Of course we know that's BS and if some Scumbag BigBucks greases the right palm they can do as they please. But the intent is to protect the consumer from predatory practices.

So what if we had that for news and information to protect us from predatory propaganda? It used to be that news people had integrity and policed themselves, but in this day and age they're all for sale. So perhaps we need a law against it? They can say what they want, but they can't do it under the guise of "news". They must clearly label themselves "entertainment" or "opinion". That goes for all of them. Which won't prevent stupid people from thinking it's real news - some poll showed that the majority of Democrats got their news from....Jon Stewart 🤪.

But bias in our news media is a real problem, and now we find they're being paid to shill. IMO that should get them shut down immediately.

Upon reading what I just wrote, it's a stupid idea because CNNbots think the sht those people spew IS real news and anything on Fox is lies. So nevermind....but wouldn't it be nice if we *could* prevent the wide-spread propaganda?

This sounds exactly like that misinformation effort under Biden famously put forward with a Mary Poppins character singing to us.

And we all agreed it was bullsht because the LAST thing this country needs is a political party TELLING us what to believe and what to ignore.

You won’t persuade the other side with words no matter how clever - but - you WILL persuade undecideds with clear and indisputable results.

To paraphrase Trump - success is the revenge.

What I want is for the news people to just tell us what happened without editorializing and telling us how we're supposed to think. I don't want them holding things back because it makes their guy look bad - they're not supposed to even have a guy.

And you know, even very strict news reporting without editorializing STILL can be grossly biased. There’s the old Russian news story where an American car beats a Russian car in a race - and the Russians report that their car came in second while the American car came next to last.

That’s a joke of course but even the Russians knew when they were being lied to. They’d hear about plane crashes in the U. S. and conclude they had one in Russia - that would be revealed later. You can report accurately and still slant the news.

Best way to see this is, see how some networks NEVER cover some stories.

All I will say on this is that we have freedom of speech for a reason. I wouldn't want it any other way. Stupid people are going to be stupid and believe whatever feels right. The libs want to control what is "real" news. We can't let them control whats reported. We saw what happens when one side controls the narrative.
