He is getting picked up by his so called owners/family and then he is out on a chain and gets lose and comes here . He has been here with an embedded collar and now flea infestation and hair loss.. He comes here and goes in my fence (when the kids leave it open) and just lays down on my front porch :banghead: the last time he was favoring his leg like he had been hit by a car .. :poorbaby:

I just finished taking care of a dog with the same problems. I took him to the vet every other week for 3 months and was able to get him healthy and I also located his owner who once instructed on how to care for him has stepped up to the plate. I realize that this situation is a little different and what I would suggest you do is to put pressure on animal control to fine the owners for medical neglect. If you review their website they tell of how fines will be written and laws will be enforced for proper medical care and etc. but it is not. No Animal Cops around this county or even our state for that matter. I think if we all pull together and demand a change for the animals in our society that we can hopefully one day make a difference. Can you imagine how the poor dog feels? I cannot understand why someone would pay a $100.00 reclaim fee each time for retrieving the dog from the shelter but not provide it proper medical care. People are just pathetic. I know it is not your responsibility but anything that you can do to help the dog is a benefit.
