I didn't watch the movie either, but I read the excerpt from the book that was in Time magazine. My biggest beef was that the author talks about soldiers as if they are nothing buy poor, ignorant, yahoos who have no greater ability in life than to go off and risk their lives in the military. Could he be anymore condescending.
