Internet businesses

They call me ... Sarcasmo
and customer service.

I tried to purchase an item from a website, filled out all the forms and hit [SUBMIT]

I got a pop up that stated "Our system cannot validate your shipping address. Please call or email (blah blah blah)"

So I called, and called and called and got the same message every time, "Our operators are busy, you can leave a message for a return call, when one becomes available."

Other items on this particular website:
"Our system is being upgraded so it will take 3-5 days to process your order and 5-7 days for shipping." Oh, they charge you for shipping also.

I found the same exact item on ebay for $14.00 less plus free shipping, my order has already been processed and it will be here by the weekend.

Why is it that Joe Blow from Rancho Cucamonga, CA can process an order with no problems in less than 2 minutes and have no problem with the same exact shipping address? Even an auto reply stating they had received the email and would have a response in a day or two or three would have been something. I don't think you can throw customer service to the wind just because you are a web based business.

I have excellent experiences with internet businesses, but I typically go with a recognized name (or eBayer with a good rep) and not some cyberspace schmo. If the website gives me a hassle - hangs up, page not found, etc - I blow them off and shop somewhere else.

Fairly similar to how it is in the dirt world.

Ed Zachary. But this supposedly wasn't a cyberspace schmo co. The company sells a good product but they need to work on their biz skillz a bit.

Then they don't really sell a good product....customer service is part of the product

Sounds fishy, I guess we need to do a little research first on a company before clicking and paying for a product. Unless its a well known company. I think someone in the forum said they have a good product, heck anyone can say they have the popular product.
