Internet Connection acting weird....Help

Hi All

I have verizon DSL and I can't seem to connect to the webserver or the email server unless I first telnet out somewhere, anywhere. After I do this all seems fine, any one have any idea?

I don't have any of the verizon software installed, found out years ago I didn't need it for anything, has this changed?

As far as I know, that's still the case. Have you rebooted the DSL modem? Are you using Wireless or Wired connections?

Yes I have rebooted the DSL modem and this is the case on the wired and wireless connection through the router, or even if I remove the router from the loop and go directly from the DSL modem its the same.

I have Verizon DSL and am having no problems. You might have a small break in your line and need the technician to come out and fix things or it can be something as simple as needing to replace your DSL filters. You can get those at Walmart for about $5. Hope this helps!
