Internet Service on the road?

Danzig has HS access in his truck. If your laptop is wireless capable you can but a wireless airtime card (or whatever it is called). Or you can just steal people's signal like most people do. Wal*Mart actually had wireless signal locators for your keychain. I think mine was $10.
I have a Verizon aircard and if I have a cellphone signal, I have internet. It's expensive and I use it only a few times a year, but when I need it, I need it.
I want it. I just cannot justify having it.

If you don't want to invest in a Verizon or Sprint Air Card ($59/Month) - most McDonald's (sit out in your car or go in get a bite to eat and surf) offer access (via you Laptop wireless card). I've used it a few times and it costs $1.98 an hour (which is reasonable to check your mail, etc.).

You can use this site (and there's a few others out there) to find no-cost WiFi hotspots. Panera is free, and they are all over the place. Public libraries usually have free access too.

Just so there is no confusion -
If you are looking to have access while "literally" driving (which is not safe) then you will need a EVDO card from Sprint, Verizon or AT&T. $59.99 a month
If you are looking for access while traveling you will need to find a hotspot and use your laptop with wireless access. You can generally stop at any Starbucks, McDonals, Chick-Fil A or library and get access.

On our long trips to Florida we always have a laptop with us with the Verizon Wireless card. It definitely helps with killing time! We generally never lose the connection either at 90mph.
The only bad part is you constantly switch from REV.A to National Access.

I have AT&T and have a multimedia package on my cell that enables me to surf the internet from my phone. I think the bundle costs me around $12 a month. I am able to get internet access anywhere I have phone signal. :shrug: I can also cancel my package at any time. Perhaps calling your cell provider will give you some better options.
