I'm sick of it. If I wanted to watch TV, I'd do it. What I do want is a quick rundown of the news, which reading gives me and watching some head run its mouth does not.

When those videos auto-play, it REALLY pisses me off. And when they start with a :15 or :30 commercial that you cannot shut down, I want to wrap my hands around someone's neck.

Not sure which I hate worse - video news stories or those show-offy flash intros to websites. Both do absolutely nothing except waste time for the user.

I do love that the technology is there, and it has its place. But, I'm getting really sick and tired of the staple that it has become, and I couldn't agree more about the non-bypassable commercials. It makes me want to throw a hammer at someone.

Oh, I completely understand that. And I don't mind commercials or banners because that's the way these sites make money (including us). What I don't like are the video news stories instead of text. If it's in addition to, that's one thing. But even then they shouldn't be auto-play.
