The U.S. has executed 1,099 people since the U.S. Supreme Court reauthorized the death penalty in 1976, according to The Associated Press.


What the heck...How many murders happened within the past 31 years? I think the number above should be MUCH higher. Eye for an eye!!! You kill someone you should DIE.

I would LOVE to have his job. I think they should let the executioner decide the method of execution, as well. Death by hammer would be very economical....

I think that he makes an interesting point at the end of the article - maybe the judge, or the jury formeman, should be the person to execute a criminal. You would have to really believe that a criminal has to die in order to order and perform an execution.

once proven beyond any doubt that someone killed another for fun or profit, then I certainly would have no issue in killing that person in a most painful way.
