28 Sharper Image Professional Series Ionic Breeze Quadra SI737 SI637
450 EP 7

I watch the Ionic Breeze commercials on TV, then read the consumer Reports article.. Since then I have not stepped into a Sharper Image Store.. Figure if they are lying about the air cleaner what other kind of crap are they peddling..

They rated it 28 out of 30.. NOT the TOP rated air cleaner their commercials say.. They rated the worst rating (POOR) in all categories excpet for Noise.. No fan, there is NO noise.. Totally ineffective at removing dust pollen or smoke from living spaces.. and they went on to say that to be effecitve you'd need one of their aircleaners for every 10 sq feet.. at $450 dollars a piece 10 ft X 10 ft room youd need $4500 worth of air cleaner to do any good at all.

You know, I've always wondered about those things. They have a few at work and one guy even hawks something similar on the side. I think they have an airwick thingy in them that smells like fresh air..you know that "just after the rain" smell.

Work with a guy that has one. It doesn't work and makes the room smell like ozone. If ozone smells "fresh" to you, something is wrong.

But wait, there's more...
Whenever the commercial is on, DQ stops what she's doing and says, "If it doesn't say Sharper Image, it's not a real Ionic Breeze." :lmao:

The Ionic Breeze commercial is almost as annoying (almost) as the Bowflex commercials. I'm sick of those.

They did mention that too.. about the ozone that it releases being above the "safe" level ...

You should send him the link to the Consumer Reposrts Site, it'll piss em off to see how much money he wasted, but maybe he'll take it home!!

Yes, I got sucked into buying a Soloflex many years ago. I used it alot but physically out-grew it in about 6 months. I had to buy a gym membership to get a good workout. :ohwell: Anybody want a Soloflex? Used only six months, also doubles as a great clothes rack. You can set it beside the Ionic Breeze I'll sell along with it. It will keep your clothes dust free and ozone fresh.

All whole-house and most room models we tested were well within the 50-parts-per-billion ozone threshold. But Sharper Image’s Ionic Breeze Quadra SI637 room model, a sibling of the SI737, exceeded the UL ozone limit, while the LakeAir Maxum room model came close.

Consumer Reports.

Your office mate is making your office an unsafe environment, you should take the rest of the week off to recover.

Ads claim that Oreck’s XL Professional “cleans the air in your home of allergens, dust, and dirt” and include a Seal of Truth from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. But the Oreck performed as poorly as other small ionizing models. As we noted in May, the AAFA’s seal means little, since it is neither an endorsement nor a statement of clinical efficacy.

Another Scam!!

I didn't like the range of motion with the Soloflex and the "rubber bands." I've used a crossbow and the range of motion is much better and provides a much better workout. As with most home equipment, anything is better than nothing if you actually use it. These days, I stick to Pro Fitness. It gets me out of the office during the week and provides a Saturday morning standing "date" with my honey. :smoochy:

I love my Ionic Breeze! I have one in my bedroom and one in my office - the two places where I smoke inside. I don't know about allergens because I'm not allergic to anything. But I do know that my office and bedroom don't smell like cigarettes anymore.

I have 2 here in the computer room which is the only room I usually smoke in. They suck. I think it's because it's not a totally enclosed room though. I put 2 in my daughters room a while back when she biatched about the smoke smell and they worked great in there.

For cigarette smoke, I guess it worked well. I bought it when my MIL came to visit with her Camel straight 2.5 pack per day habit. (I lost the battle to make her go outside, she could barely walk 10 feet unassisted) It probably did well, I just think she overwelmed it. Should have seen the gunk we wiped off the blades daily. :dead:

Smoke smell has been replaced with OZONE.. and can buy a CRAP load of airfreshners that will do the same thing with no unsafe ozone levels for that price..
