Ipad question

I've only had this Ipad since September so I'm sort of dumb at it..so I'm admitting that first.
Since the 8.0 update my settings have all changed and I can't figure out why or how to.

1. I can't hear sound on youtube videos, the mute button is checked and I cannot uncheck the box. I hear other video like Netflix and NBC app but no youtube?

2. My backlight won't go off, it used to timeout/sleep after a minute or two of not using it, now, it won't go off... like at all??? I've tried looking in setting at the lighting part and getting no where??

I've also done the 8.1 update and it's nothelped at all

any help is appreciated. THANK YOU

For (1), are you watching YouTube videos through a browser or through something like Facebook or through the YouTube app?

For (2), go into Settings>General>Auto-Lock. From there you can choose how quickly you want the screen to shut off when there's no activity. It's probably set to Never right now.

and to answer the question, I think the youtube won't work out of Facebook.
