since i wiped my harddrive last month now my comp doesnt recognize it
and now the battery is dead...
any ideas on how to fix this?

Iff you have iTunes it should recognize it. Does iTunes open up or does the iPod shw up in iTunes?

Try moving the cable that you are using for the iPod to a different USB Port.

did that too....all it says on the ipod is "connected"
but it just sits there...doesnt even charge

Go to Apple website and see if there is a download for your Ipod. :shrug:

What happens in iTunes? Anything at all? Does it show up as a device on the left side?

on the ipod it shows connected......it doesnt say anything in itunes

What version of iTunes are you running? You can go to Help and About iTunes at he top menu. Also, are you on a Mac or PC?
