hey ANDY i need your expertise! How do I transfer music from my iPod to my new computer?
Barbra said:To my knowledge, you can't get music off your iPod.

To my knowledge, ITunes7 won't delete the music off of there - but I myself wouldn't run the risk without being absolutely sure. I've got an iPod laying around but I've never used it.
I have an Olympus MP3 player and a DELL Axim handheld... Since the DELL runs the Windows Mobile platform and uses external storage for the music, I rely more on that.ChumpChange said:Good googly moogly! Why not? If you have an iPod you aren't using I will take it off your hands for some $$. Ok?
your knowledge is weak....Barbra said:To my knowledge, you can't get music off your iPod.
The first thing I did with my iPod was set it up as a logical drive - so I do have my old music if my hard drive decides not to work anymore.mainman said:your knowledge is weak....

Perfect, thank you. My hard drive crashed yesterday, so iTunes was completely wiped out. Luckily I only lost one purchased song that I hadn't sent to my iPod yet.johnycarcinogen said:basically, plug it in, set itunes not to start automatically with connecting it. Then open it through my computer like you would a flash drive. then you can view files, put stuff on, and take stuff off. the music on the ipod are in "hidden" files, so you just have to go to folder options and select show hidden folders.
more or less that should get you what you need

If this is true then why do they tell you "your music is valuable and you are responsible for backing it up" in program alerts all the time...RadioPatrol said:you can get that song back when you replace your HD and reinstall iTunes, just authorize that PC and get your music back
I kid you not, I told myself Monday night that I needed to start backing my music up. Woke up Tuesday morning and the bia was toast.kwillia said:If this is true then why do they tell you "your music is valuable and you are responsible for backing it up" in program alerts all the time...
I bought an external hard drive for the sole purpose of backing up my itunes because I found myself losing sleep at the thought of losing them all...Nickel said:I kid you not, I told myself Monday night that I needed to start backing my music up. Woke up Tuesday morning and the bia was toast.
