No, that's not a typo.

WTF is it with Apple? They come up with these ingenious ideas, then make everything [snottytone]oh so proprietary[/snottytone] and hold you hostage to their limitations.

The daughters got iPods for Christmas. #3 has songs on her iPod that she got off of my computer (songs that I purchased in some fashion). Now she wants to add songs that are already on HER computer. Guess what? No can do. iTunes will only erase her song list and add a new one, not just add to what she's already got.

To add insult to injury, they won't let you transfer music from the iPod to the computer. Taking this music pirating thing WAY too seriously.

But some happy little geek has made software that let's you do all kinds of things with you iPod, including transfer songs from your iPod to your computer.

What you want is the iPod Agent. PS, it's free.

Apple sucks.

Without apple we wouldn't have Windows (not sure if that is a good or bad thing)

No, without Xerox we wouldn't have windows. Steve Jobs stole the mouse and click from Xerox.

Vrai - you can burn the song to a CD and then upload it to the new computer via iTunes and on to the iPOD. Did this with my kid's iPOD on his new computer from my MAC laptop.

Janey83 - Apple does support right-click if you have a 2 button mouse. I use one every day on my PowerMac.

You all may hate Apple but I never crash, I don't have to worry about viruses or spyware like on my PC. If I could get TeamSpeak to work on one I would ditch my PC and get an iMAC.

That is a royal PITA. It should take one step to get data from Point A to Point B, especially when you can hook A and B together via USB.

I appreciate your wanting to defend Apple - I used to be a Mac Baby myself. But now owning a Mac is like owning a Prius, in that it's a hippie status symbol that you can't do anything with. :ohwell:

Wasn't there a controversey about the battery in the IPOD? Somehting like when it would not recharge anymore you have to ditch the whole IPOD because you could not change the battery?

Actually, I've seen pictures of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates together at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. Gates pirated the GUI and mouse technology at the same time as Jobs stole it for Apple. The reason that Jobs got his op system out faster was that he had a hardware venture to capitalize on, where Gates focused solely on software, and he didn't have any bucks until he stole Q-DOS, renamed it MS-DOS, and started marketing that.
