The U.N. imposed more sanctions against them. I bet Mr. Ahmidinejhad (sp?) is really scared now, just like the Iyatolahs of Iran were when Mr. Carter threatened he would not light the National Christmas Tree if they idn't release those hostages. :lmao:

UNITED NATIONS - The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Saturday to impose moderately tougher sanctions against Iran, hoping to send Tehran a strong message that it will grow more isolated by refusing to suspend nuclear enrichment.

The 15 members of the Security Council approved a ban on Iranian arms exports and a freeze of the assets of 28 additional people and organizations involved in Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. About a third of those are linked to the Revolutionary Guard, an elite military corps.

“This resolution sends an unambiguous signal to the government and people of Iran ... that the path of nuclear proliferation by Iran is not one that the international community can accept,” said British Ambassador Emyr Jones Parry.

I just saw him on TV. He looked happy.
It's an act. Everyone knows that when the UN says jump, you better just get to jumping and not waste your breath asking how high.

But doesn't Iran want to be isolated? They're calling for the destruction of Israel and most of the Western world... leaving a clean slate that is all the better to repopulate, bringing their radical beliefs with them.

I'm all for sanctions against Iran. It will be interesting to see if Joe American can stomach the gas prices that follow when Iran decides to put a crimp in the flow of oil though.

Andy might have to keep his SUV in drydock and drive a Geo Metro instead.

Hi dummy, :howdy:

So, you're saying yopu'd rather sanction Iran and piss them off so they will jack up oil prices so America suffers? You're saying you want gas prices to hit $4.00 a gallon. Evidently you don't drive.

That's another reason sanctions will have no impact on Iran. :smack:

We need to send in a MOAB on Iran.

And what do you think will happen if sanctions are imposed? Who will be hurt the most by this? :tap:
The Iranian people and, uh, our oil prices. But forestoolsample thinks if that happens and our oil prices go up, we'll all run out and buy $60,000 hybrids immadetly! :jet:

Guess how much I got me SUV for forest? :jet:

What kind of car do you drive? What kind of gas mileage do you get, and how is it helping our present enviromental crisis you and Kerad speak of? :tap:
