This just in from a friend:

There have been an average of 160,000 troops stationed in Iraq during the last 22 months.

During this time the firearm death total was 2,112 for a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000.

The rate in Washington DC is 80.6 per 100,000.

That means that you are more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation's Capitol, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq.

Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.

And your stats aren't as good for IRAQ as they should be... AVERAGE of 160,000 so the total of different people serving in Iraq is probably closer to 500,000 or more in the 22 month period.. choppping you death by firearm number by 4.. so that would be 15 per 100,000

Please don't forward this information to anyone else, it is misleading and the facts used are wrong. That 80.6 figure is from 1991 and is for ALL murders, not just firearms, the rate for 2000 is 41.8.
