Has anyone tried checking on a return on the IRS site? Mine was e-filed on 3/3 and they say there is no info on it.

I've found that the online site really is not up-to-date. In the past I've tied to obtain online information, and I got the same "not found" message. Definitely call. Keep in mind processing times were delayed this year, so I'm sure the IRS is backlogged.

Lucky for me I don't have to worry about a refund as I'll be writing them a check on April 15.

Well, I called my accountant who said he'd been checking peoples pretty regularly with no problem, except when he checked mine. Tax topic 152, which is a bunch of stuff. Then he gave me their phone no. and a ref. no. to get further info.

Got in touch with IRS this am, problem is they can't do a direct deposit since I am now the sole recipient and my wife is on the checking acct still. They will have to mail a check. Sounds pretty stupid, but is something a tax person should have known and asked me about.

That doesn't make sense at all. Glad you're getting your refund, even if it is a bit delayed.

Yeah, the IRS even tried to do it, but the C/U wouldn't take it. IRS didn't know it was a joint acct., so it's not their fault. I am happy it wasn't anything serious.
I am going to call tax guy later and give him a little info on this.
