Is Christmas really a secular holiday?

While most Christians embrace Christmas, a few recall a more complex history

"CHARLESTON, W.Va. - As Christmas draws near, Pastor John Foster won't be decorating a tree, shopping for last-minute gifts or working on a holiday sermon for his flock. After all, it's been 50 years since Christmas was anything more than a day of the week to him.

He's one of very few American Christians who follow what used to be the norm in many Protestant denominations--rejecting the celebration of Christmas on religious grounds. "

Here goes another group! If you check out the "United church of God", you'll see that they don't believe in the God of the Bible even though they say they do. They don't believe that the Holy Spirit is God and they rarely speak of the Father so, of course, they'll try to put away Christmas celebrations. You know, it's fine not to put up a tree, not to put up lights, not give presents & not sing Christmas songs, but I wish people would stop saying that it is wrong if I do.:loser: As I said before, I don't worship my tree, almost every Christmas song is about Jesus and I don't worship the lights or decorations either. The entire meaning of Christmas (to me) is to thank Jesus for what He has given to me & done for me. For saving me from an eternity in hell, for my great (late) parents, for my wonderful (though not trouble free) childhood and for the great job & life He's given me. Christmas reminds me of warm, close family & friends so, if the Ebeneezer united church of god doesn't want to recall those things, FINE, but don't suggest that I shouldn't also.
