Is it just me, or...

... does it appear that this person bought this puppy out of the back of someone's truck in a parking lot? :twitch:

This person is a friend of one of my friends, who posted this to her profile with the caption, "X's new puppy!!!!" At first I thought, "That's cool," until I noticed the blatantly obvious sign behind him. If you can't tell, there are also the prices $25 and $50 painted on the sign.

I'm not sure what is worse... that people run operations like this or that stupid people buy these dogs.

Many of those cute, impulsive buy puppies end up in the local animal shelter a month or so later. Or worse, banished to the back yard on a chain.

I HATE when on the rare occasion we go to the farmers market and these ding bats who are selling puppies and the people and kids are picking them up and improperly holding them and its awful.

I know it happens often, but it always seems crazy to me how people can make a snap decision on something so important. :ohwell:

all my dogs came from the farmers market and all lived to be about 12-14 years old and didnt end up in the yard on a chair so i dont see anything wrong with buying a dog out the back of a pickup...

Good for you I don't think you should leave chairs in the yard anyways

IF the seller is doing all the proper vet care / checks, etc, well... not much.

But, unless they like hemmorhaging money out the wazoo, there is no WAY that anyone that is taking the time and expense to to things the proper way would be selling pups for $25.

Health issues. Genetic issues. Disease.

Half those pups are propably loaded with hookworm if not worse...

Wearing a staw hat and sipping on a nice cold glass of lemonade, whilst the old dog stares pensively at the crops on the back side of the plantation...

Not a bad retirement for a dog. :roflmao:

Would that be a barc-o-lounger or a rocking chair?

Oh the horror
reminds me too much of the slave trading pictures I saw.

Those people are clearly racist.

the pillow case an the river would certainly be a much better resolution to their puppy problem.

Getting the females spayed and the males neutered would solve the random litters of puppies that these people are peddling off on people. Some of them are bought by people that care and take care of them. And many do not. Some end up getting humanely euthanized at the shelter; which in my opinion is better than living on the end of a chain, being abused and neglected.
Either way, not allowing them to reproduce is the logical answer to this problem.

Most people that sell animals cheap are doing it to try and insure that someone is actually willing to spend money on the pet.
one of my daughters cats were obtained that way. She is a Tabby that was born in a barn here in Davidsonville, an outdoor start to her life. The guy was charging 10 bucks each for the kittens. We got her, but he didn't actually take the 10 bucks, he just wanted to see that we were willing to give it.

The cat is still alive happy and healthy, makes all the vet appointments and will continue to do so. She also has never been outside since the day we brought her home.

The biggest cry for people to spay and neuter seems to come from those closest to the business of selling.. I wonder why that is.
