Is it normal for a 4-year-old boy to CONSTANTLY grab his crotch? He walks, he grabs it... he stands still, he grabs it... he sits, he grabs it... he is just holding it all the time. He said he doesnt need to go to the bathroom... he is just grabbing it out of habit. WTH...

It's a guy thing. Grown men do it all the time - guess they want to make sure it's still there.

Admit it, guys, the only reason you don't walk around in public grabbing your crotch is because some woman beat that habit out of you. But you still want to.

IMO, I would say it depends on how excessive it is. Discovering his genitals is normal, but he needs to be told to do that in private (or not at all depending on your philosphy); he's only four so perhaps not aware of social norms yet. A quasi-obsession is another story and sometimes can be indicative of abuse if coupled with other signs (Google it). Or, it could be something as simple as a rash that's bothering him and he doesn't realize it to tell you. :shrug:

I had that issue with my son. He is five now and with LOTS of "you need to do that in private" prompts it is no longer a huge issue.
I think it is just a guy and his penis type thing :duh:

It's a normal thing for Boys to do that. Now on the other hand, it could be he might have a Urinary Tract Infection. I had the same issue with my Son when he was about that age. As stated earlier, I told him that he needed to do it in Private. Not those exact words. I have also seen Boys come in to the Office, that have had Ticks embedded in that area, so you might want to check that out.

Last night when I was getting my 2 year old undressed for her bath she reached down there and said "look at my bagina!!! I dont have a weenus, mine is a bagina" I was like thats nice honey :lol:
