Is it normal?

Just curious since this is the first time I've had a kid in High School if it's common practice for the High School to tell students to not come to school on the last day unless they have Finals to make up? When my son first told me a few weeks ago, I was skeptical until I saw it in writing. I know my youngest is not happy the Middle Schools don't do this too. Is Patuxent the only HS that does this or do all?

My daughter told her mom the same thing and she didn't believe her...my daughter went but said she was in class with only two other students. :shrug:

The notice on the school's website said that if any students come today, they'd be in the auditorium all day.

It's weird, you'd think they'd just make the last day of school earlier.

We did the same thing when I was in high school. They try to keep the numbers down while they do end of year stuff. People usually went to make up a final or turn in a project and then left..or didn't go at all. I never went, its a waste.

Since my son took his last Final yesterday, he just stayed home today.
