Is meowing at your neighbor a crime?

JEANNETTE, Pa. -- Meow. A Pennsylvania judge is being asked to decide whether that word is a harmless taunt or grounds for misdemeanor harassment.

"I've had to put up with this for three years," Carasia said. "As I walk by, I see Michael and his mother. He got on the porch and hid behind the bamboo screen and starts meowing. If I don't make this stop now, they're going to keep doing this to me. I shouldn't have to worry about walking out of the house and being harassed by this young kid."

He said he's only meowed at her twice. The boy's family got rid of their cat after Carasia complained that it was using her flower garden as a litter box.

That will be an interesting case...probably get thrown out the first time though. Woman has neighbors that had to get rid of a cat due to her complaints about that. Now the cat owners' kid is pissed at the neighbor and is harrassing her out of spite.

Hmm. See, this is where I have a heart burn with cat owners. if you'd keep your damn pet on a leash, or in the house like dog owners have to do by law, this stuff wouldn't have happened. I'd be pretty pizzed if I routinely saw a cat takin a dump in my garden and having to deal with smell.

As far as the harrassment goes...that could be stopped pretty easily with a comment or two..."Whats the matter kid, you miss seeing your cat taking a dump in my yard? I'll gladly take a dump in your yard if it'll help you forget about it."

"This should never have been filed," Martin said. "This is not something that police should be wasting their time with or wasting the court's time."
Agreed. If the old biddy doesn't want to be meowed at, she should stay in her house.

If it where my property, the cat never would have been found... :elaine:
I've had several cats walk all over my vehicles, crap in my flower beds, and meow under the windows at night. They never bothered me much.......after I shot them.
