Is Sears the only repairer?

I have only been here 2 months (so - sorry if this is a dumb question), but is Sears the only place that can repair ovens? I have looked online and in this site and it looks like there's nobody in St Mary's who can repair (Whirlpool). Does anybody know of anyone else? My oven door permanently locked after a self-cleaning cycle and Sears can't come & fix it until 15 Aug. That's a long time without an oven.

I just checked the yellow pages - there's a place called Same Day Appliance Repairs 301-884-5070 and one called Appliance Works at 301-812-1002. I know nothing about either of them, but maybe one of them can help you.

My oven did that and we shut it down from the power box. It opened.

That is a pain. :ohwell:

I did shut it down, but it didn't work. I might shut it down from the plug overnight...maybe that'll work. Otherwise - crystal could be diamond!

Look up the make and model on google..probably will find a home appliance forum and someone else that had the same problem and can tell you how to fix it yourself.

^^ Call these people, don't depend on Sears, they will call the morning they are supposed to show and say they can't make it. Went round in circles with them with a washer that was on the blink. Finally showed up after 2 cancellations, 2 months after we first tried to get it fixed.

**I do not know crystal or her husband** Anything is better than Sears service.
