Other than an electric fence, that you can use to keep dogs inside of a fence.

We have them on chains but they have figured out that they can just reach the fence. So we put up chicken wire, well now they just get tangled up in that.

And although we stand out there with them, and try to stop they still look at you like "What it's your problem now that I am stuck".

So any advice?

:lol:what kind of dog did you 2 get?

We got something like chicken wire, lined and secured it to the bottom of the fence. It has really long spikes on the end so it's harder for the dogs to dig up. Then again, I have a rambunctious jack russell who's just a little thing but she sure likes to dig.

Good luck.

Ah these two have decided they are going to china. By means of a tunnel, but we arent worried about that since this spring a deck will be put in the place of the hole

Oh no! They're just digging holes? That sucks...not sure what to say about that one. Good luck with the deck though :howdy:

Thanks, They are still pups so the yard is not a big deal. And if they do keep digging then I can get some really good white rice

You should walk them to help burn off that energy. Maybe a dog park?
The dog park is something we haven't tried yet.

But they get walks/runs they run around the back yard but seems to be no matter the amount of toys or other things, there is something about being on the other side of the fence

Shorter chain?

Put an electric fence (just 1 wire) about 6 inches from the fence, and low enough so they'll hit it when they try to dig. They'll learn to stay off the fence when they get shocked. It's not cruel, and should work nicely.

ETA: Crap...I need to pay attention. Why don't you want to use an electric fence?

Do you have to cover the wire? I know most of them say they have to be underground, true?

No, get a garden type electric fence. It has a small charger and it's not very "hot." What kind of fence do you have now? You'll have to get insulators to connect the wire to the current fence. It's really not very hard at all....and it won't really hurt the dogs. I've been shocked by really "hot" electric fences many times....although it gives a good jolt, there's no real damage done.

Are they chained 24/7? I'd be really worried that eventually they would figure out how to accidentally choke or hang themselves.

Because we wont be at this place for very long, and I don't see where it is cost affective to put this in.
