And Mechanicsville zip code isnt 20622
The ad doesn't actually say "teacup" as that is generally my first clue..
But I get heartburn over paying assinine amounts for doggies. There are so many in rescues and shelters..why pay hundreds and hundreds for a pet?[/QUOTE]
I agree!! I rather rescue than to pay hundreds of dollars.. But when people sell them, i always see outragous prices for yorkies.. Like the poor dogs at the stores, they want like $1500..
CRRAAZYYY!!!

I think people call them teacup because they are so small. Yorkies average 3-7 pounds normally, and a lot of people call any dog that small a teacup not because it's the name of the breed, just a reference to the size. Isabella is a normal sized dog for her particular breed, but she's referred to as a teacup.
The ad refers to the dogs being between 2-7 pounds when grown, so it's not like they are abnormally small for their breed.

Yorkies are yorkies..not teacup or any other name. They should be 4 pounds and up. Lots of Yorkie "breeders" use terms like "teacup" and "babydoll" to entice people to buy smaller puppies..cuteness factor. It's really not good to breed them down to under 4 pounds...they are too frail and can have health problems.

I guess I look at a little different. Isabella's breed is categorized as a toy breed (Group 9 Section 9 of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale). It's been my experience that many of the general public call all toy breeds teacups unless they show.
I hear what you are saying!! Most breeders find that using TEACUP is more eye catching and flashy. It helps them sell the pups for more money because people have no clue.
I have never called mine a teacup and she is 5lbs. (she is not fine china)
Yep. It's also why I started making her clothes and collars instead of purchasing them. Get a dog a collar and it's a few bucks. Get a "teacup" a collar and it's a couple of hundred.
OMG!!!!! ..... Im gonna start telling everyone.....
I have a TEACUP BH!!
E & P are teacups ... well P is... she is much smaller than normal ones!!!
