But for anyone intersted, Soho debates are awesome. Well moderated and with both sides being argued effectively.

Sorry Chris...they would need to have an actual economists on both sides. However, since there are no economists who think tariffs are a good idea the Pro tariff side is represented by Stephen Moore...a purely political hack...and was on display for all to see during his ridiculous nomination to sit on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

Not one...in fact 76% "strongly disagreed" with the premise.

So you were stuck with the likes of Stephen Moore. Catherine Rampell makes more look like the idiot he is. No high profile economist will debate him.

Don't know Gene Epstein either. His bio says he is econ editor of Barrons and he follows the Austrian school. So he is also way out of the mainstream in thought.

In fact, I am surprised they didn't roll out Robert Reich....the left's answer to Moore---nothing but a political hack.

So...no won't watch this...it would be a waste of time.

Tariffs are a terrible idea. They do more harm than good...as is evidenced by the slowdown in US manufacturing and manufacturing employment and the lowering of US exports.

You are so wrong. Read ( tariffs in U.S. history ) in wikipedia to get an insight on tariffs from George Washington to the present . They have have a lot of backing from U.S. Presidents.
