Novice prediction:
Heavy slam into North Carolina...we get drenching rains and flooding(3-7 inches)...some wind damage.
Schools will stay open. (majority)

Plywood prices will surge!

I say Thursday: 9/18

Thoughts?

Yikes!

I'm praying it doesn't slam into our house in S.C. Oh, and that my little brother remains safe. His outlook, "What the hell? We get all the hurricanes (inthe Wilmington, N.C. area); why can't it hit Georgia for a change - they're due."

The way it's tracking it looks like Fla. In the last hour it's changed heading to a little south.

That's for snow!

Survival gear for a Hurricane is Beer, Hard Liqour, Pretzels, Chips, Fixins for Chili and a Battery Operated TV.

Isabel prediction - landfall late Friday night/early Saturday morning (next week). I think it will hit the outer banks of NC track towards the bay and dump a sh!t load of rain with localized flooding.

Here is a neat link with plots: http://hurricane.terrapin.com/

My HOPE for Isabel - heads out to sea. I am going out of town this weekend via BWI and don't want any delays.

Could be, but my gut says we are going to catch a lot of this storm.

Floyd (1999) dumped over 9 inches on us in 24 hours, and it was dry for some time before she hit.

So are you saying we're lucky it's raining now????
