Islamic leader writes a story for tolerance

"DEARBORN -- When Imam Sayid Hassan al-Qazwini and other religious leaders met at the White House with Bill Clinton in 1999, something the president said encouraged Qazwini's conviction that Americans needed to know more about Islam.

It was only when his daughter, Chelsea, took a class in world religions, Clinton said, that he understood how much Islam had in common with Christianity and Judaism.

"These words rang bells in my ears," Qazwini said, sitting in his office in the largest mosque in the country, the Islamic Center of America. "And I thought 'what could I do about educating a bigger number of people than I do just in the churches and the universities?' I thought: 'I need to write a book'."

Random House published "American Crescent" last month, and a group of interfaith leaders, including the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity & Inclusion, will meet at the mosque at 7 p.m. today to discuss it.
.....
Leaders of other faiths call the book a bold strike against the extremists and an explanation of how Islam and American patriotism can walk hand-in-hand."

Meanwhile, another Islamic leader once sided with intolerance of the Jews:

Historic Nazi Ties“The Hitler - Arab alliance during World War II is a factor in the continued admiration for Hitler apparent in PA society. Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Arab leader in pre-state Israel under the British Mandate, was a staunch ally of Hitler. The meetings between the Mufti and Hitler are well documented.”

this just in!

Muslims aren't all the same!
Christian Community Shocked
So then, why do people get upset when baptist say mormons aren't the same. A little contradictory here...

Wouldn't Some Muslims get upset to say they didn't see the same Allah as the other Muslims did?

I don't know
Man, what?

honestly, muslims do get upset when people lump them into one big catagory .... which is why some write letters of peace or help christians and jews raise crosses and unfortunatly others bomb buildings.

Well, we need to be less hateful then and stop lumping them all together... after all, it has been defined on these threads by various non-religious people that it is "hate" to disagree with religious perspectives.

Everyone hates to be lumped into one big category... especially if that category contains people doing or saying things we don't like. The problem is that most people enjoy, or can't help themselves from lumping everyone else into big easily digestible categories regardless of objection or denial.

I've decided that from here on out, I am only going to recognize two categories of people.

  • Me.
  • All y'all ####ers.
