Revealed: Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran

ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.

Two Israeli air force squadrons are training to blow up an Iranian facility using low-yield nuclear “bunker-busters”, according to several Israeli military sources.

I saw reports about this several times on the news today and I find them all quite silly. I guarantee you that the US also has plans to attack Iran with nukes. I'm sure we have plans for nuclear strikes against several countries. We also probably have conventional strike plans drawn up for Iran and several other countries. I'm sure Russia has plans. I'm sure China has plans. I'm sure Iran has plans. Everybody with a military has plans on what to do with them if X happens. Just because somebody makes up plans, it does not mean that they are intending to use them. These are called "contingencies". They are made for things that might happen even if we hope they do not. It's like the Boy Scouts..."Be Prepared".

I assume the intent of publishing (not you, Yle, publishing it, but the news people) something like this is to create animosity toward Israel - "See??? The evil Jews are planning to nuke Iran!!! "

Well, one of the guys on FNC said that he thought that the US leaked it because they didn't like the idea and didn't want Israel considering it. I doubt that. If the US leaked it, I think they would have leaked it to NYT instead of a UK paper. Anyway, I think the US is perfectly capable of talking Israel out of such an action...at least as a first-strike action. And an article in a paper isn't going to dissuade a retaliatory nuclear strike.
